List of Reforms
Topic: Master Plan
Ok, since we are a group, it is time for us to get some serious coordination. The first thing on my list is...a list. We need a comprehensive list of everything that we want to do and add.

I shall now list my ideas, none of which are divine authority (I may be a Rhinoceros officer, but that only means I have to do more work than you, the authority stops there.)

1) Add a P.R. officer, since the officers in the ASB will never actually pay attention to the students, no matter how hard you try. If this guy comes along, (s)he will have to pay attention to the students. (s)he can also be an advocate for the clubs.

2) Raise student awareness about what the ASB really is (a business organization) and how they can help (buying stuff at vending machines and lunch at the P.A.W.S.), as well as why the ASB matters (because they control all the clubs)

3) Require monthly reports to the Vice President of the ASB by all of the clubs, which will give the clubs a kick to actually do things.

4) Set up something like a suggestion/complaint box so that if any student has an issue or an idea, or a problem, the ASB can actually find out, rather than twiddle their thumbs.

Numbers 2 and 4 have nothing to do with the constitution.

What is the Master Plan?
Topic: Master Plan
Our master plan is still in the working, but it goes something like this...

STEP 1) Sign on at least 300 members of the Rhinoceros Party. This will give us a voting majority, since almost nobody actually votes in the student elections.

STEP 2) Sign on at least 18 senators to the Rhinoceros party. Currently, we have 5 members, but if we rule a senate majority, we can be sure that the ASB is kept in check.

STEP 3) Put a Rhinoceros Candidate in "office" for President, VP, Treasurer, or Secretary. President would be best, as he could make the most decisions on the ASB's moves.

STEP 4) Raise school spirit. I know a lot of people who don't go to sports games because they have no school spirit. If we increase sports attendance, the ASB will get more money from concessions and admissions. This can give good money.

STEP 5) Increase fundraisers and local support. We may have to see a few more ads around our school, but commercial groups always show lots of financial support. Extra money from this would be a big help.

STEP 6) Give money to the clubs. Yes, the clubs can spend what they want. You heard me. What. They. Want.

STEP 7) Reform the ASB constitution. Right now, there are limits on club fundraising and assemblies. Fixing this would help the clubs get more money even if we die out.

STEP 8) Set up the Rhinoceros party to live without the founders. Right now the two founders of the Rhinoceros party are Juniors. After we're seniors, someone will have to take over for us. But we need to be sure that the original intent of the Rhinoceros party is preserved. We will need help on this.

If you have any suggestions or complaints about our master plan, please post your thoughts on this forum. Thank you.

Beginning of the School Year
As you all know, we have school soon. Most of us will be Juniors this year, but we need to also raise the awareness of this year's seniors and sophomores, as they can help as well. Coming into this school year, we want to be very sure where we're going with this, and how we are doing, so this topic is here for us to discuss the do's and dont's of the Rhinoceros Party. For example:

DO: Try to raise money for the ASB and get us to be taken seriously.

DON'T: Yell at people for not liking us, or say something not backed up by other party members, because that may misrepresent us.

So yea. Just remember that the party is still around, and so is our cause. I for one plan to help the party by offering help with projects to those who are members of the Rhinoceros party, like a community of people who help each other. That may help sign others on, and it'll help us all.

Todd Speaks with Mr. Ivelia
Topic: Public Announcements
On Thursday I spoke to Mr. Ivelia during lunch. We discussed not the Rhinoceros Party, as you may expect (his feelings toward it are neutral, but don't expect him to support it), but the ASB itself. It appears that he is open to changes in the ASB. He and I discussed a few possible reformations to the ASB constitution, including maybe not requiring a leadership class to run for office, a new ASB officer (someone who makes sure the assemblies and games actually make people proud of the school) and some interesting news that he gave me. Right now, the ASB advisors are sending a proposal toward the administrators for a "Panther period." While I'm not a big fan of the name, the concept is great. It's an activity period, once or twice a week, but in addition to clubs, students can freely approach Mr. Ivelia, the class and ASB officers, and the ASB senate during this period, where they can get information on what's going on, and give suggestions and complaints. Personally, I like where it's going and would like to see Mr. Ivelia as a friend to the Rhinoceros party. Let's show him that we are here for the good of the clubs, the ASB, and of course...you.

Opposition
Topic: Angry Ranting
Updates on the opposition: it appears that Mr. Ivelia, the ASB advisor, has nothing for or against the Rhinoceros party. But one thing is for sure: he isn't trying to get rid of it. I have yet to speak with Kjell Warnes, but it does seem taht he is not a big fan of us. However, I do hope that we can help boost our true image, one of a group of students who just want a few changes in the atmosphere of the ASB, not jsut the senate, but the school itself. Those who I have talked to seem to be unwilling to support or oppose us, as they don't know what we are all about. So if you are wondering what we do, just ask Trevor, Todd, or Sarah.
